Nigerian Based in America Laments as Authorities Order Her to Remove Barrels From Her Home

A Nigerian based in the United States has taken to social media to share her frustration after authorities allegedly ordered her to remove barrels she had arranged in front of her home.

According to her, the barrels were purchased for resale and neatly arranged in front of her property. However, the authorities reportedly instructed her to remove them.

Lamenting the ordeal, she said:”Can you imagine, the house we bought, the house we are paying mortgage on every month? They served me a letter saying I need to remove all of them… and if I don’t, they will take me to court!”

She explained that even though she owns the home and is paying a mortgage, rules from the authorities and the bank still take precedence. With no garage or basement, she struggled to find space for the barrels.

Advising others planning to buy a home in the U.S., she emphasized the importance of features like a garage or basement. Reflecting on her own experience, she said that when she first arrived in the U.S. 20 years ago, she was desperate to own a home and overlooked these features.

Speaking in Yoruba, she stressed the importance of careful planning when purchasing a home, urging prospective buyers to save properly and ensure their property meets all their storage needs.
