Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has taken a notable step in her public life by launching the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), an interdenominational Christian fellowship in Abuja. The launch was announced in August 2026. In October, a video shared on social media showed her and others at a site identified with the ministry’s planned church building in Bwari. Here is what is known about the fellowship and her faith journey so far.
From Entertainment to Faith
Tonto Dikeh is one of Nollywood’s best-known actresses and has also been active in politics. In 2022 she was named a deputy governorship candidate in Rivers State on the ADC platform.
Her public turn to faith became clearer in December 2025. On Sunday, 14 December 2025, she gave a testimony during a service at Streams of Joy International, the church led by Pastor Jerry Eze. She spoke about what she described as her deliverance from smoking, alcohol addiction and prolonged anger, among other struggles. The testimony drew wide attention online.
In February 2026, she announced that she had graduated from a discipleship class at Streams of Joy International and shared her certificate on social media. She has remained closely associated with Pastor Jerry Eze’s NSPPD community.
Public Prayer on Social Media
Tonto Dikeh regularly shares prayer sessions with her followers. On 3 October 2026, Gistlover reported that she had been seen praying on a mountain with members of her new church congregation. She shared the moment on social media.
What Is the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle?
The New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle was announced by Tonto Dikeh on Instagram and launched at a service in Abuja on Sunday, 9 August 2026. She has described it as a “global movement of consecrated believers,” a “spiritual home,” and an “interdenominational altar.”
The ministry is not presented as a traditional denominational church. Its leadership has said it is “not a church” in that sense, but an intense gathering focused on prayer, revival, healing, deliverance, evangelism and Kingdom advancement.
The fellowship meets every Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Omini Grand Hotel, formerly the Alexis Hotel, on Masalachi Junction in Jabi, Abuja.
Foundation Video from Bwari
On 9 October 2026, a video shared on social media showed Tonto Dikeh and members of the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle at a site in Bwari, Abuja. The video ends with a graphic from the ministry that reads “A Church Building in Honour of Pastor Jerry Eze” at Holy Ghost Fire Miracles Ministry, Bwari, Abuja, with the words “The Foundation Has Begun.” The graphic features Evangelist Tonto Dikeh and Pastor Jerry Eze, alongside architectural renderings of the planned building. In the footage, she is seen anointing the bricks with oil and praying over the land. Gistlover also reported on the video.
The Biblical Foundation: Mark 2:22
The ministry is built on Mark 2:22, which speaks about new wine and old wineskins: no one puts new wine into old wineskins, because the skins would burst. Tonto Dikeh has used this passage to present the fellowship as a place for believers seeking a fresh and active faith rather than routine religion.
Vision and Values
According to the fellowship’s announcement, NWPT aims to see a global awakening of consecrated believers who operate in “the raw power, purity, and presence of God.” Several reports of the launch list four core values under the acronym FIRE: Flame of Intercession, Intimacy and Consecration, Revival and Soul Winning, and Empowerment through Deliverance and Healing.
Church Support Initiative
The ministry has announced a support project to mark Pastor Jerry Eze’s birthday. Through NWPT, Tonto Dikeh said the initiative would help churches that need structural repairs or essential equipment. Churches seeking support are asked to submit photographs of their facilities, their location, a description of their needs, and a Bill of Quantities with estimated material costs. She has said beneficiaries will be chosen according to spiritual direction rather than personal connections.
Public Reaction
Her move into ministry has drawn mixed reactions. Some Nigerians have praised her openness about her past struggles and her visible commitment to prayer and ministry activities. Others have expressed caution, questioning the sincerity or timing of the transition and pointing to her earlier public image. As with many public figures who step into religious leadership, opinions remain divided.
Whatever the range of opinions, it is clear that Tonto Dikeh has stepped into a new season of faith. Her consistent and continued walk — from public testimonies to prayer gatherings and now the foundation of a church building — serves as a reminder of the power of God to transform lives.
What Comes Next
The New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle is still in its early days, but the steps already taken — from weekly gatherings to the foundation of a church building in Bwari — show clear momentum. With continued consistency in fellowship, commitment to its vision, and growing support, the ministry is well positioned to expand its reach and impact in the months ahead.
